Ryan out & about in Austin

The source says it's Ryan's mom but that's not Donna. We will update once we ID her :)

From JustJared:

Ryan Gosling rocks some shades as he takes an afternoon stroll on Saturday (September 29) in Austin, Texas.
The 31-year-old actor was joined by his mom Donna who came to visit him for the weekend.
Ryan took a break from his upcoming Untitled Terrence Malick Project so they could grab some lunch.
While they were out, the mother-son pair also enjoyed some time together at a local street fair. How fun!

Ryan makes us jealous of a dog

Such cuteness in these new behind the scenes pictures from the set of 'Untitled Terrence Malick Project'.

People magazine got it right "Why a dog made us jealous ... and a horse!"

"Leave it to Ryan Gosling to smile at a passing pooch and stir up all kinds of feelings: jealousy, spitefulness, despair.

The actor, along with costar Rooney Mara, is currently spending long days on set for the untitled picture, and seemed to relax momentarily on Wednesday when a crew member brought over the dog between takes.

Gosling had another encounter with the furry kind on Thursday when he filmed a scene with Mara next to a horse. There is no photographic evidence to suggest that the horse got so much as a "Hay, girl!" or even a goofy grin from Gosling, but we still managed to feel jealous of the horse, too."

"The Place Beyond the Pines" director, Derek Cianfrance, talks about Ryan's motorcycle skills

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Cianfrance talks about The Place Beyond the Pines and how Ryan improved his motorcycle skills:

For a car chase sequence — Cooper in a patrol car, Gosling on motorcycle—Cianfrance filmed 22 takes of Gosling weaving in and out of traffic. (The director was adamant that there be no edits in the scene; “stitching it together just has a different feel.”)
Soon Gosling began to internalize Cianfrance’s approach of spending the extra hours. To get his motorcycle skills up to par, Cianfrance said, the actor spent six hours a day for nearly two months working with a top Hollywood stuntman.
The movie was acquired by Focus Features at TIFF and will be released in 2013.

Christina Hendricks gives more details about 'How to Catch a Monster'

Christina gives us more information about Ryan's directorial debut and her role. Check out an excerpt of the Collider article below:

Well before any 50 Shades of Grey adaptation brings BDSM to the screen, Chrstina Hendricks (Mad Men) can be seen working in a fetish club in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster. The Drive co-stars came together when Gosling was scripting the picture with Hendricks in mind and sent the actress more than just the script:

“He sent the script over in this cool box with an interesting little key, and cool artwork in it,” recalls Hendricks. “It was like the full package! And then I read the script and was in love with it, so I called him back and said, ‘Yeah, please.’”

In Hendricks’ own words, her character is:

“supporting two children and trying to provide a home for them and a place of comfort in a continuously harder place to be. And I find myself working in this very surreal club that gets me into a sort of predicament, and in the meantime, these boys are off on their own adventures and they discover this underground city.”

As for what kind of club:

“Fetish club,” she says. “Fetish club.”

Hendricks working in a fetish club aside, the actress went on to talk about Gosling’s progress on the film so far, saying that:

“I’m sure it will be incredibly clever, and Ryan already has storyboards and pictures of neighborhoods and homes, and he’s already collecting music for it … when you read it, it gives you the feeling, maybe, of a memory. Something from your childhood that you can’t really pinpoint."
We can't wait to see it!
